...to the 2001 Erl Wood Worldwide Pharmacovigilance and Epidemiology (EW WWPE) Forum Website. This website has been created to:

  • Share information about the content of the forum
  • Provide details to prospective attendees on the venue and how to register for the forum and arrange hotel accommodation
  • Give links to other websites that give information on things to do outside the conference (sightseeing etc.)

Purpose and Objectives of the Forum

It has been almost two years since our last Erl Wood Pharmacovigilance conference. Since then, there have been a number of changes in EW WWPE contacts and structure, affiliate PV contacts and in the general world of pharmacovigilance. Building on the principles outlined in the ‘On Leadership’ paper, we will be focusing on the following behaviours throughout the forum:

Harvest Learning and Share Ideas

  • The forum will be a great opportunity to network with fellow pharmacovigilance colleagues, share 'best practices' and learn about new PV initiatives.

Create External Focus

  • Pharmacovigilance is continually evolving. Changes in the regulatory environment include the new Clinical Trial Directive, electronic submission of AE reports and a recent EU draft paper on pharmacovigilance compliance. There is also the recent publication of the new CIOMS V guidelines. All of these will have an impact on Lilly pharmacovigilance. At the forum we will discuss and share ideas on how Lilly can influence the future of pharmacovigilance by keeping abreast of changes, looking externally and anticipating needs.

Set Direction with Strategic Thinking

  • Overviews of the quality initiatives that are ongoing or planned within Lilly PV will be given and feedback on these will be invited.

Implement with Integrity, Energy and Speed

  • Implementation of MedDRA, the Safety Surveillance PALS project and Project Mercure (France becoming a Core Data Entry Site) are example of projects demonstrating this leadership behaviour. Presentations on these projects will be provided during the forum.

There will also be posters, break out sessions for beginners and opportunities look around the EW WWPE department and put your questions to experienced pharmacovigilance experts.

A more detailed programme agenda can be found here.

The success of this forum will largely be determined by the participation of the attendees. EW WWPE encourages affiliate and core data entry site pharmacovigilance contacts to make every effort to try to attend and collaborate in this event.
